Returns Policy

All product returns require a Return Material Authorization number (RMA). An RMA number can be obtained by clicking on the Product Return Request button below. Please review our return policy before starting a new return. All refund/return requests will be processed promptly by Smithbuy.

All items may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange except for the following:

  • Any item(s) where the serial number, model number, UPC, or product labeling has been removed, altered, or does not match the shipping record will be considered not purchased from Smithbuy and non-returnable.
  • Any item that has been modified, damaged, or disassembled.
  • Any retail packaged items must be unopened and in the original packaging. If the product is working, the item will be subject to the standard restocking fee.
  • Product damage by the carrier (UPS, Fedex, USPS, etc.) must be reported directly to the carrier, as Smithbuy is not liable for shipper damage.
  • Any item that is returned as defective or DOA will be tested to verify working condition. If the product condition has been misrepresented, the item will be subject to the standard restocking fee.
  • OEM packaged items must be returned in the original packaging and include all manuals, cables, and internal packaging as originally shipped.

Any returned items meeting one or more of the above exceptions may incur a stocking charge of 15% and therefore only a partial refund.

Smithbuy offers extended holiday returns. Returns for items purchased between November 1 and December 31 must be received at Smithbuy’s warehouse no later than January 31 for eligibility for full refund, subject to the above.


Payment Processing

Paypal, Amazon, and Credit Card Providers set certain policies that we must follow for processing orders using their payment systems. In order to meet necessary requirements for all payment providers, your order must adhere to the following.

  • All orders must have a valid phone number in order to be processed.
  • Any order that is to be shipped to a business address must include the business address in the “ship to” portion of your order.
  • All orders with different billing and shipping addresses may require additional processing time. We may contact you directly by phone to resolve a billing concern.
  • Smithbuy will not ship product, under any circumstances, to a warehouse, freight forwarder, shipping agency, aggregator or similar type of business.
  • If shipping and/or billing addresses are incomplete or not recognized by our shipping software, your order will be placed on hold until we receive verified correct shipping information.
  • All orders that do not meet the above criteria will be subject to hold until resolved or will be cancelled and the purchaser’s payment promptly returned.

Shipping Information

Smithbuy.com can ship to virtually any address in the world. Due to U.S. Export laws, however, certain restrictions may apply. Certain products may also be ineligible for international shipping. Smithbuy’s warehouse is open Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (CST). Items ordered by 1 pm (CST) and listed as “in stock” are usually processed and shipped the same day, based on availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Orders received after 1:00 pm (CST) or on a holiday or weekend will ship the next business day.

USA & Canada
We usually ship via FedEx and UPS, however we do use various freight carriers for larger/heavier orders. Other options for shipping are available upon request. Please email us at [email protected] if you have special shipping needs.

International
For orders sent worldwide, we use Fedex, UPS and various freight carriers when needed for larger/heavier orders.

Order Processing Time

Items listed as “in stock” will usually process and ship the same day for orders received by 1:00 pm (CST). Orders received after 1:00 pm (CST) or on a holiday or weekend will ship the next business day. Requesting special shipping methods may delay order processing time.

Unless an item is marked as “free shipping” or “fixed rate shipping” during the checkout process, standard shipping rates will apply. All items are shipped ExWorks from Smithbuy’s warehouse.

Shipping Costs

Our goal is to keep shipping prices as low as possible. We do not charge additional handling fees or mark up the standard shipping rates provided by shipping carriers. Rates are provided immediately via direct online connections to the carriers. The shipping price is not based on the cost or value of the product. Shipping prices are based on the dimension and weight of the product you are ordering, rounded to the next full pound, and the location it is traveling to. Item weight information can be found on the More Information tab on each product page.

Drone Returns Policy

Each drone manufacturer has its own warranty period and is typically 90 days from date of purchase. Please see the specific warranty information for each manufacturer below.

Hubsan Warranty

For all drones, returns are subject to our standard Returns Policy with additional restrictions as listed in our Drone Returns Policy.

Products that are Dead on Arrival (DOA) may be returned to Smithbuy according to our standard Returns Policy.

Additional restrictions for all drones apply:

Returns will not be accepted due to operator error or regular wear and tear.

All returned products will be inspected for damage, missing parts, and policy violations. Missing items and accessories will be deducted from any refund given or the product may be returned to the customer without a refund.

The customer voids the warranty if they:

  • Flash the firmware of a device or root a device
  • Open the body in an attempt to fix the device
  • Modify, remove, customize, or swap parts of the product
  • Use the device in a way that it is not originally intended for
  • Continue to use the item once a fault occurs and causes more damage
  • Attempt to tamper or alter with any labels, serial numbers, waterproof marks, false proof marks, etc.

Any violation of the items listed above will result in termination of the return policy and will result in the drone being returned at the cost of the customer.

The Return Process

To file for a product return, send an email to [email protected] with the following information:

  1. Describe the problem with your item in detail: What happened? When? How? Please also state your full order number and product code (SKU number).
  2. Tell us what steps you have already taken to resolve the issue.
  3. Provide the item code indicated on the outer packaging.
  4. Send a clear photo or video showing the defect(s); these should be taken under good lighting.
  5. Smithbuy will provide return shipping instructions by email.

Hubsan Warranty

Hubsan will warrant your drone for 90 days after the date of purchase from defects in materials or workmanship of original manufacture. Hubsan, at their discretion, will repair or replace the incorrectly made part at no charge. This warranty does not cover damage caused by crashes, abuse, misuse, alterations or accidents. To return your quadcopter for repairs you need to provide proof of purchase, your store receipt or product invoice. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE PURCHASER BE ENTITLED TO ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER RESULTING FROM THE USE, MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT OR FROM DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
